Four Blocks to Miller Park

My favorite series: Twins-Brewers

Screw the subway series. The I-94 Series is where its at for me. I'm an old school American League Brewer fan, so I get juiced whenever American League teams come to Miller Park. And baseball has ordained the Minnesota Twins as the Milwaukee Brewers chief American League rival, so this is the series I look forward to the most every season.

The irony of this "rivalry", of course, is that the two teams were really not rivals at all when they both played in the American League. They were just sort of acquaintances. If the Brewers had any team in the American League that they could truly refer to as their rival, it would have to have been the White Sox. But, the Gods have told us it is now the Twins, and so it is.

Below I have listed the statistics for the two teams (as of Wednesday the 16th) and their starting pitchers leading into the big three game set. It is naturally a comparison of apples and oranges considering that the Twins play in what is generally considered a much tougher league. Because of that, I wouldn't be fooled by the Twins sub-.500 record. They are a good team waiting to bust out, with an outstanding offense, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if they gave the Crew all they could handle this weekend.

This team is becoming eerily similar to the 06 Crew.

Ty, for Clete's sake, change the Win Twins logo for tonight's game. Every little thing counts when you are in a rut like the Brew Crew.

You're right the Brewers and Twins never were and never will be rivals. MLB has got to change the interleague scheduling. It sucks that the Brewers are stuck playing the Twins 6 games a year.

I agree they should change the interleague schedule by eliminating the exhibition games that count in the standings and interupts the flow of the regular season. Interleague play is a very dubious "accomplishment", Bud.
