Milwaukee, WI -- Did you catch Ned Yost's comments regarding the regretable performances turned in by MR Kane Davis and MR Jose Capellan? They were pointed and unequivocal. And if I were the targets of said comments, especially if my last name is Capellan, I would take heed..."It boils down to getting an opportunity in these situations," Yost said, in a semi-tirade, "A lot of the guys out there, really, we're getting a look at these guys for next year to see if they fit in. In these types of situations, you have to come in and get the job done"... Capellan has just been a disaster. He looks like he's a thrower and not a pitcher. He can bring it up there at 99 mph, but so what? The hitters seem to be able to turn it around with ease... He's got no movement on his fastball and he has a hard time locating it. Maybe the Braves knew what they were doing when they got rid of him. Their (the Braves) track record with pitchers indicates they know a thing or two about how to evaluate big league talent. And they deemed Capellan expendable. Big red flag... Kane Davis has been okay. He had that bad error in Houston, but by and large he's held up. He's a little long in the tooth, but if he shapes up he might be in the plans for next year... SP Rick Helling put up a pretty good account of himself last night. He might be alright. He sure gave the Brewers an excellent chance to win, and that's all one can ask of a starter... JJ Hardy starting to flex a little power. Another two run blast last night to go along with his two run blast the day before. He's going to be an excellent hitter I think... I'm kind of excited to see what SP Wes Obermueller will bring to the table. Apparently while he was exiled to the minors he picked up a nice change-up. Wouldn't it be great if that one adjustment suddenly made him a holy terror on the mound, like in 1986 when journeyman Astros SP Mike Scott learned the split finger fastball and became temporarily unhittable?
